Though it will be difficult to use for beginners new to Thelema and studying or practicing the Magical Systems Thepema has inspired, it is Spiritiually worthwhile to learn EVERYTHING one can about the Thoth Tarot Deck by Aleister Crowley and Frieda Harris.This is my favorite Deck, and the best one I ever used! Have have two others of this Deck, one consecrated with fhe Sacred Secretions produced by Sex Magick involved with the Anahata Chakra. This new Deck is being used for ritual practice. Specifically I need the Zodiac Major Arcana to place around my Circle at the exact Positions of and to easyark the Zodiac Placements at the time of my Ritual so that I can easily find the location of each Zodiac Constellation and draw it Hexagram there.The images on these cards are se of the utmost Spiritually inspired masterpieces of art ever created.I cannot say enough about how much I highly recommend EVERYONE whether they are a practicingagician or not needs a Deck of the Thoth Tarot. The one and only ThothGood and big.I have been using this deck to study the Thoth tarot. I like the reproduction and cardstock (silky, not matte, and flexible for a good side-shuffle).They are quite large so if your hands are on the smaller side I could see the difficulty handling them. They work well for me.My one critique upon receiving then was that they do not lay flat, however I have grown accustomed to that and it actually helps (and further develops) with side-shuffling, as in bridge style.All in all I am happy with the deck. I use it in conjunction with the Tarot of the Eternal Stars, and have since purchased a few books on the Thoth tarot to better innerstand the deep symbolism and meanings of the cards.A great deck. It really is big, tho!Perfect condition. I have the pocket edition, but love the large deck much more.As someone who likes to dig deep and get to the bottom of things I felt a strong need to find a deck that explains the deeper energy behind the Tarot. This fits the bill. I also disagree that this isn’t for beginners - if you want to start at the root before working your way into the more specific art of RWS/based decks then this it the one. Make sure you pick up the Book of Thoth. I find that, after Thoth, I look at my RWS based collection as interpretation of the originals energy/ies and very useful for specific applications. To me, while this isn’t the oldest deck, it is the “OG” in terms of an explanation of the whole and deeper meaning. I’ll warn that it’s not for the faint of heart.I purchased this deck because as a tarot practitioner it seemed odd not to at least give the classic Thoth a chance. The art work didn’t appeal to me in the least, and I knew it was different than the traditional tarot, so it took me a while to take the plunge and purchase it. I watched a video of Lon Milo DuQuette reading the first chapter of his book “Understanding Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot” and was suddenly obsessed with learning it. If you buy the deck, that book is an ESSENTIAL companion text, so do yourself a favor and pick it up too. Once I opened the deck, I flipped through and still wasn’t in love with the art but kept at it for a few days and quickly realized this is one of my favorite decks. I love the oversized cards, good card stock, and the art work has really grown on me, especially after reading about the imagery and meaning behind it. It made a Thoth lover out of me for sure. Thoth tarot dives so much deeper into Qabalah and Hermetic magick than your traditional decks and really helps you grasp the concepts better. Definitely recommend, but only for those committed to a deeper understanding of magick, otherwise you may find it overly complicated and unappealing.La calidad es excelente tanto del material como de la imagen en las cartas. Overall I will be buying another in the future just to have a spare deck, these are wonderful and Aleister Crowley alongside the artist Lady Frieda Harris who conceived the imagery in this deck is something truly special for anyone trying to contemplate life questions and become more introspective.
